I n the middle of audit week, our company accountants decided not to show up. As it turned out, they embezzled some money. What struck me the most was that the people who did it were not strangers; they were like mothers and aunts. We saw them almost every day, smile at them, laugh with them, and made plans together. As part of the management team, we ate out and had a friendly good time. It was heartbreaking to realize that the people in the news for some criminal activity had the same profile as those that I had warm and cuddly relations with. But loyalty goes up. My love for God supersedes any other relationship. I feel sad, yes, but I have no inkling to cover for them. If anything, I am upset because I was this close to them, and yet, clueless. My colleagues and I were mixed emotions. On one hand, we felt betrayed. The suspects were like family. We confided in them and planned activities with them in all sincerity and warmth. But maybe, just maybe, they were truthful and sincere...
Untie Depression
ReplyDelete#Zec4v6 Then he answered and spoke unto me, saying, "This is the word of the LORD unto Zerubbabel, saying, 'Not by might, nor by power, but by my Spirit,' says the LORD of hosts."
Depression is like a noose on your neck; it gets tighter and tighter when you just pull away. This is not a matter of emotional strength, thinking that the cord will just snap on its own when you pull harder. It will only tighten its grip all the more and suffocate you - to death.
Depression has to be untied or cut, but not by human hands. Human powers can't do it. Only Jesus has the power to untie and sever the cords of depression.
Ask for His help. He is listening.
Come to His rescue, for He is waiting.
It is not by psychological might. It is not by scientific and medical power. But it is by the Holy Spirit.
Right here. Right now. The Holy Spirit is saying to you, "You can't do this alone, all by yourself. You need Me."
Let God do it. Allow the LORD to help you.
