There's a lot on my plate, and I've bitten off more than I could chew

#Josh10v12  On the day the LORD gave the Israelites victory over the Amorites, Joshua prayed to the LORD in front of all the people of Israel. He said, “Let the sun stand still over Gibeon, and the moon over the valley of Aijalon." NLT But why? Why delay the sun from setting? v.13 So the sun stood still and the moon stayed in place until the nation of Israel had defeated its enemies. NLT Until the work is done… When I have a lot of things to do and I don't know how to start, or it looks too huge for me - then, as always, I would need more grace and supernatural help. In v.9, Joshua traveled all night. (More coffee, please!) Sometimes, it's just too exhausting. But the Lord comes and breaks it down for us (v.10). But still, I have to do my part: continue to stretch my faith and flex my muscles. In v.11, the heaven-sent-hail did more work than the Israelites did with their efforts. God is just so gracious and kind. He carries us… The Hebrew for Amorites could mean 'm...

He who failed much, loves much

#Lk7v47 I tell you, her sins—and they are many—have been forgiven, so she has shown Me much love. But a person who is forgiven little shows only little love.   We don't live in the realm of 'forgiven' work, awfully known as complacency and mediocrity of efforts and results. We own up to our mistakes, shortcomings and incompetence. There's no excuse for failure. It's what it is, falling flat on the face.   "I failed! So please help me, God!"   A glimmer of hope: Mercy triumphs over judgment! #Jam2v13

Acts 7

the king version Then the high priest said, “Are these things so?” 2  And he said, “Men, brethren, and fathers, listen! [1] The God of glory appeared unto our father Abraham when he was in Mesopotamia, before he dwelt in Haran, [2]   3  and said unto him, ‘Get [3] out of your country and from your kindred, and come into the land which I shall show you.’ ( Gen. 12:1) 4  Then he came out of the land of the Chaldeans, and dwelt in Haran; and from there, [4] when his father was dead, He removed him into this land in which [5] you now dwell. 5  And He gave him no [6] inheritance in it — no, not so much as to set his foot on; yet He promised that He would give it to him for a possession and to his seed after him, when as yet he had no child. 6  And God spoke in this way: [7] That his seed should sojourn in a strange land, and that they should bring them into bondage, and treat [8] them evil for four hundred years. 7  ‘And the nation to whom they ...

Now I Know

#Prov7   I have seen    a young man lacking sense (v7) And behold, the woman meets him (v10)    and with bold face she says to him, (v13) "Come, let us take our fill of love till morning;     let us delight ourselves with love…" (v18)   All at once he follows her,     as an ox goes to the slaughter, or as a stag is caught fast     till an arrow pierces its liver; as a bird rushes into a snare;     he does not know that it will cost him his life. (v22-23)   Little did he know that…   Many a victim has she laid low,     and all her slain are a mighty throng. Her house is the way to Sheol,     going down to the chambers of death. (v.26-27)   We already know that sexual sins and immorality is for men and women, that though the Proverbs text was written to sym...

Acts 6

the king version     And in those days when the number of the disciples was multiplied, there arose a murmuring of the Grecians against the Hebrews, because their widows were neglected in the daily ministration [1] . 2  Then the Twelve (12) called the multitude of the disciples unto them and said, “It is not reasonable [2] that we should leave the Word of God and serve tables. 3  Therefore [3] , brethren, you [4] look out among yourselves [5] for seven (7) men of honest report, full of the Holy Spirit and wisdom, whom we may appoint over this business. 4  But we will give ourselves continually to prayer and to the ministry of the Word.” 5  And the saying pleased the whole multitude. And they chose    Stephen, a man full of faith and of the Holy Spirit,    and Philip    and Prochorus    and Nicanor,    and Timon    and Parmenas    and Nicolas, a proselyte of Antioch, 6  whom...

Acts 5

the king version     But a certain man named Ananias, with Sapphira his wife, sold a possession, 2  and kept back part of the price, his wife also being privy to it, and brought a certain part, and laid it at the apostles' feet.    3  But Peter said, “Ananias, why has [1] Satan filled your [2] heart to lie to the Holy Spirit, and to keep back part of the price of the land? 4  While it remained, was it not your own? And after it was sold, was it not in your own power? Why have [3] you [4] conceived this thing in your heart? You have not lied unto men, but unto God.”    5  And Ananias, hearing these words, fell down and gave up the spirit [5] , and great fear came on all those who [6] heard these things. 6  And the young men arose, wrapped [7] him up, and carried him out, and buried him.    7  And it was about after [8] three hours later [9] when his wife, not knowing what was done, came in. 8  An...

EXB  Help us to remember that our days are numbered, and help us to interpret our lives correctly. Set your wisdom deeply in our hearts so that we may accept your correction. TPT    The Lord God said that our average lifespan is 70 to 80 years. [Psa 90:10] The Life-Sustainer promised to preserve our lives for His glory, so we pray against untimely death. Acts 4

the king version And as they spoke [1] unto the people, the priests, and the captain of the temple, and the Sadducees came upon them, 2  being grieved that they taught the people, and preached through Jesus the resurrection from the dead. 3  And they laid hands on them, and put them in hold unto the next day, for it was now evening [2] . 4  But by now [3] , many of those who [4] heard the Word believed, and the number of the men was about five thousand (5,000). 5  And it came to pass on the next day [5] , that their rulers, and elders, and scribes, 6  and Annas the high priest, and Caiaphas, and John, and Alexander, and as many as were of the family [6] of the high priest, were gathered together at Jerusalem. 7  And when they had set them in the midst, they asked, “By what power, or by what name, have you [7] done this?” 8  Then Peter, filled with the Holy Spirit, said unto them, “You rulers of the people, and elders of Israel, 9...

Acts 3

the king version Now Peter and John went up together into the temple at the hour of prayer, being the ninth hour. 2  And a certain man lame from his mother's womb was carried, whom they laid daily at the gate of the temple, which is called Beautiful, to ask alms from those who [1] entered into the temple, 3  who, seeing Peter and John about to go into the temple, asked for [2] alms. 4  And Peter, fastening his eyes upon him with John, said, “Look on us.” 5  And he gave heed unto them, expecting to receive something from [3] them. 6  Then Peter said, “Silver and gold I have none; but such as I have, I give you [4] : In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, rise up and walk.” 7  And he took him by the right hand and lifted him up, and immediately his feet and ankle bones received strength. 8  And leaping up, he stood, and walked, and entered with them into the temple, walking and leaping and praising God. 9  And all the people saw him wa...

Acts 2

the king version And when the day of Pentecost had [1] fully come, they were all with one accord in one place. 2  And suddenly, there came a sound from Heaven as of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled all the house where they were sitting. 3  And there appeared unto them cloven tongues like fire [2] , and it sat upon each of them. 4  And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit, and began to speak in [3] other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance. 5  And there were Jews dwelling at Jerusalem, devout men out of every nation under heaven. 6  Now when this was noised abroad, the multitude came together, and were confounded, because every [4] man heard them speak in his own language. 7  And they were all amazed and marveled, saying one to another, “Behold, are not all these who [5] speak Galilaeans? 8  And how we hear every man in our own tongue, wherein we were born? 9  Parthians, and Medes, and Elamites, and the dwellers in Mesop...
