John 2

the king version

And on the third day, there was a marriage in Cana of Galilee, and the mother of Jesus was there; and both Jesus and his disciples were called to the marriage. And when they wanted wine, the mother of Jesus says* to Him, “They have no wine.”

Jesus says* to her, “Woman, what have I to do with you? My1 hour has2 not yet come.”

His mother says* to the servants, “Whatever He says to you, do it.”

And there were set there six waterpots of stone, after the manner of the purifying of the Jews, containing two or three measures3 apiece. Jesus says* to them, “Fill the waterpots with water.”
And they filled them up to the brim.

And He says* to them, “Draw some out now, and carry4 it to the governor of the feast.”
And they carried5 it. When the ruler of the feast had tasted the water that was made into wine, and knew not from where6 it was (but the servants who drew the water knew), the governor of the feast called the bridegroom 10 and says* to him, “Every man at the beginning does set forth good wine, and when the men have drunk well, then that which is worse; but you have kept the good wine until now.”

11 This is the beginning of miracles that Jesus did in Cana of Galilee, and He manifested forth His glory; and His disciples believed in Him.

12 After this, He went down to Capernaum: He, and His mother, and His brethren, and His disciples; and they continued there not many days.

13 And the Jews’ Passover was at hand, and Jesus went up to Jerusalem, 14 and found in the Temple those who sold oxen, and sheep, and doves, and also the moneychangers7, sitting there. 15 And when He had made a scourge of small cords, He drove them all out of the Temple, and the sheep, and the oxen, and poured out the changers’8 money, and overthrew the tables. 16 And He said to those who sold doves, “Take these things out of here9! Make not My Father’s house a house of merchandise!” 17 And His disciples remembered that it was written: “The zeal of Your house has eaten me up.” (Psa 69:9)

18 Then the Jews answered and said to Him, “What sign do You show to us, seeing that You do these things?”

19 Jesus answered and said to them, “Destroy this Temple, and in three (3) days I will raise it up.”

20 Then the Jews said, “Forty and six (46) years was this Temple in building, and will You raise10 it up in three (3) days?” 21 But He spoke of the temple of His body. 22 When therefore He had risen from the dead, His disciples remembered that He had said this to them. And they believed the Scripture and the Word which Jesus had said.

23 Now when He was in Jerusalem at the Passover on the feast day, many believed in His name when they saw the miracles which He did. 24 But Jesus did not commit Himself to them, because He knew all men, 25 and needed not that any should testify of man, for He knew what was in man. {KING}

The Curse of the Thief

I n the middle of audit week, our company accountants decided not to show up. As it turned out, they embezzled some money. What struck me the most was that the people who did it were not strangers; they were like mothers and aunts. We saw them almost every day, smile at them, laugh with them, and made plans together. As part of the management team, we ate out and had a friendly good time. It was heartbreaking to realize that the people in the news for some criminal activity had the same profile as those that I had warm and cuddly relations with. But loyalty goes up. My love for God supersedes any other relationship. I feel sad, yes, but I have no inkling to cover for them. If anything, I am upset because I was this close to them, and yet, clueless. My colleagues and I were mixed emotions. On one hand, we felt betrayed. The suspects were like family. We confided in them and planned activities with them in all sincerity and warmth. But maybe, just maybe, they were truthful and sincere...

Laws of Seed and Harvest (Part 1)

There is a force at work in our lives that governs our prosperity. It is a mechanism set in place by God that goes on and on even when we are not aware of it. Image courtesy of Lightstock The Lord has said, “ As long as the earth endures, seedtime and harvest...will never cease .” (Gen 8:28) Seedtime and harvest is a paired action and reaction. Sowing and reaping always go together. The laws of seed and harvest are so embedded and ingrained in our system, both physical and spiritual, that the Bible says, “ God can not be mocked. A mans reaps what he sows. ” (Gal 6:7)   So now we have a responsibility to embrace these biblical principles and have them be deep-rooted into our consciousness. The seed must be planted I tell you the truth, unless a kernel of wheat falls to the ground and dies, it remains only a single seed. But if it dies, it produces many seeds. (John 12:24 NIV)     A seed for planting will remain to be just that, a seed - single, unproductive a...

Being On God’s Side: The Nonpartisan Obedience And Submission of The Elect

My choice of candidate is only as good as when I vote. My vote is only as good as when it is counted. But when the tally comes, my choice is irrelevant – God  decides  who is king.   Every person is to be subject to the governing authorities. For there is no authority except from God, and those which exist are established by God. (Romans 13: 1 NASB)   Our future does not depend on the person who gets elected, but on the One who sits on the Throne. If God has already decided, then why do I need to vote? This sounds like the clay who talks back to the Potter, “Why did you make me this way?” [see Romans 9:19-20] Let’s admit it: Though we vote according to our conscience, our conscience is formed by information made available to us. We can only know so much about a candidate, but God knows all things. In choosing, our sense of compatibility and personal preference are at work. We like a certain candidate because we feel that we like something about them, or w...

Move On Me Lyrics and Chords

Who composed this song, please? A quick google search is not showing any result. This worship song has been one of the revival songs in our church for about 2 decades now. We had some guests during this season who (I thought) introduced this song. I remember 2 men and 1 woman in their late 20’s or early 30’s, of a group name called Tenderheart. I really don’t remember reading the name title, but only by them being introduced. So if you know where in the World Wide Web we can find the reference for this song, please share the link. Thank you so much in advance!   Move on me Key: E *Verse 1 There's a River filled with power Flowing down from the Mountain And filling up the valley You have saved me, You have changed me As I drink from Your fountain And I bathe in Your sea   *CHORUS Move on me Fill me with Your Spirit once again Cover me with the power of the River That flows from the Mountain Lord, I believe Move on me   *Ve...

Answered Prayer for a Baby

Listen, my son! Listen, son of my womb! Listen, my son, the answer to my prayers! (Proverbs 31:2 NIV) (Image courtesy of Lightstock) Dear Father, King Lemuel’s mother prayed for a child and she prevailed. And that child even became a king. Oh, Lord, let me be next! I also pray for a child, and I will prevail. I will have a baby. You answer prayers, oh Lord, even prayers for a baby.  I make this vow: that the child you give me will be raised in the reverent fear and knowledge of the King of kings. Oh my Lord, please be delighted to grant this request.

Laws of Seed and Harvest (Part 2)

Harvest Size is Dependent on Seed Value Remember this: The farmer who plants a few seeds will have a very small harvest. But the farmer who plants because he has received God's blessings will receive a harvest of God's blessings in return. (2 Cor 9:6 GW) (Image courtesy of Lightstock )   In the natural realm, we understand that if a farmer does not plant today, he will not reap tomorrow. Moreover, when a planter uses inferior and low-quality seeds, the harvest will be affected. It’s either the entire yield is poor in quality, or the cream of the crop is small. Defining a Valuable Seed Heaven’s economy is different from our world system. The Lord of the Harvest, in all His justness and fairness, does not see the value of a seed like we do. We easily measure in amounts, and we easily contrast the buying power of a 100 bill to a 1 coin. But this is not the eternal basis of value. The Most Generous Giver of All Our Lord Jesus was and is nosey about offerings. He observed t...

The Seed Principle

The Bible is our reference for Christian Economics and financial progress. The Word of God is full of revelations concerning prosperity waiting to be uncovered by every generous child of the Father. And it all starts with a seed. Image courtesy of www.shutterstock.com Spiritual Seeds   God’s Word is a seed. The farmer sows the word. (Mark 4:14 GWT) When we share the Gospel, the Holy Spirit uses the Bible verses that we have planted into people’s hearts to convict them of their need of a Savior. Sometimes, we reap a harvest of souls in just hours (or less). Other times, it takes days, weeks, months and years before these people surrender to the love of God. And there are also times when we will reap a harvest from other seed-planters. They heard the word of God somewhere, grew in their hearts, and now, with your ministry – they are ready to become disciples of Christ. Faith is a seed. “…Truly I tell you, if you have faith as small as a mustard seed, you can say to this mou...

Blood or Wine

The Lord God who turned water into blood is the same Savior who turned water into wine. God's first act of public judgment against Egypt was turning water into blood. But our Lord Jesus' first miracle on record was turning water into wine, and it's about blessing a social event. How do I want my Miracle Worker to come to me, with a sword or with some sweets?  I'd rather run to the Father of grace and mercy, live a holy life, and receive His bountiful blessings for me.
