And Adam knew Eve his wife; and she conceived, and bore Cain, and said, “I have gotten a man from the Lord.” ²And again, she bore his brother Abel.

And Abel was a keeper of sheep, but Cain was a tiller of the ground. ³And in the process of time, it came to pass that Cain brought of the fruit of the ground an offering to the Lord. ⁴And Abel also, he brought of the firstborn of his flock and of the fat thereof. And the Lord had respect to Abel and to his offering. ⁵But to Cain and to his offering He did not respect. And Cain was very angry, and his countenance fell.

⁶And the Lord said to Cain,

“Why are you angry? And why is your countenance fallen?” ⁷If you do well, will you not be accepted? And if you do not do well, sin lies at the door. And to have you will be its desire, and you must rule over it.”

⁸And Cain talked with Abel his brother. And it came to pass, when they were in the field, that Cain rose up against Abel his brother, and killed him.

⁹And the Lord said to Cain,

“Where is Abel your brother?

And he said, “I do not know. Am I my brother's keeper?

¹⁰And He said,

“What have you done? The voice of your brother's blood cries to Me from the ground. ¹¹And now you are cursed from the earth, which has opened its mouth to receive your brother's blood from your hand. ¹²When you till the ground, from now on it will not yield to you its strength; a fugitive and a vagabond will you be in the earth.

¹³And Cain said to the Lord, “My punishment is greater than I can bear. ¹⁴Behold, You have driven me out this day from the face of the earth, and from Your face I will be hidden, and I will be a fugitive and a vagabond in the earth. And it will come to pass, that anyone who finds me will kill me.”

¹⁵And the Lord said to him,

“Therefore, whosoever kills Cain, vengeance will be taken on him sevenfold.”

And the Lord set a mark upon Cain, lest any finding him should kill him. ¹⁶And Cain went out from the presence of the Lord, and dwelt in the land of Nod, on the east of Eden.

¹⁷And Cain knew his wife, and she conceived, and bore Enoch. And he built a city, and called the name of the city, after the name of his son, Enoch. ¹⁸And to Enoch was born Irad, and Irad fathered Mehujael, and Mehujael fathered Methusael, and Methusael fathered Lamech.

¹⁹And Lamech took to himself two wives: the name of the one was Adah, and the name of the other Zillah. ²⁰And Adah bore Jabal; he was the father of such as dwell in tents, and of such as have cattle. ²¹And his brother's name was Jubal; he was the father of all such as handle the harp and organ. ²²And Zillah, she also bore Tubalcain, an instructor of every artisan in brass and iron; and the sister of Tubalcain was Naamah.

²³And Lamech said to his wives,

“Adah and Zillah,

Hear my voice;

you wives of Lamech,

Heed my speech:

For I have killed a man to my wounding,

and a young man to my hurt.

²⁴If Cain will be avenged sevenfold,

truly Lamech seventy and sevenfold.”

²⁵And Adam knew his wife again; and she bore a son, and called his name Seth. “For God,” said she, “has appointed me another seed instead of Abel, whom Cain killed.” ²⁶And to Seth, to him also there was born a son; and he called his name Enos.

Then men began to call upon the name of the Lord.

The Curse of the Thief

I n the middle of audit week, our company accountants decided not to show up. As it turned out, they embezzled some money. What struck me the most was that the people who did it were not strangers; they were like mothers and aunts. We saw them almost every day, smile at them, laugh with them, and made plans together. As part of the management team, we ate out and had a friendly good time. It was heartbreaking to realize that the people in the news for some criminal activity had the same profile as those that I had warm and cuddly relations with. But loyalty goes up. My love for God supersedes any other relationship. I feel sad, yes, but I have no inkling to cover for them. If anything, I am upset because I was this close to them, and yet, clueless. My colleagues and I were mixed emotions. On one hand, we felt betrayed. The suspects were like family. We confided in them and planned activities with them in all sincerity and warmth. Bishopric and Episkopé: The Ministry of Visitation

The KJV word is bishoprick , which is now archaic in spelling. Most Bible translators didn’t use the modern spelling ‘ bishopric,’ and that, for a good reason. #Acts1v20 For it is written in the book of Psalms: “Let his habitation be desolate, and let no man dwell in it.”, and, “His bishopric, let another take.” A quick google search shows that bishopric means: the office or rank of a bishop. · a district under a bishop's control; a diocese. Faith vs Godlessness: Re-Crucifying Jesus To Public Shame

It is impossible for those who have once been enlightened, who have tasted the heavenly gift, who have shared in the Holy Spirit, who have tasted the goodness of the word of God and the powers of the coming age, if they fall away, to be brought back to repentance, because to their loss they are crucifying the Son of God all over again and subjecting him to public disgrace. Blood or Wine

The Lord God who turned water into blood is the same Savior who turned water into wine. God's first act of public judgment against Egypt was turning water into blood. But our Lord Jesus' first miracle on record was turning water into wine, and it's about blessing a social event. How do I want my Miracle Worker to come to me, with a sword or with some sweets? I'd rather run to the Father of grace and mercy, live a holy life, and receive His bountiful blessings for me.
