The Feeling Is Mutual

An unjust person is disgusting to righteous people. A decent person is disgusting to wicked people. (Proverbs 29:27 GW)

I guard my heart; I will not let my guard down. I will remain vigilant. I will continue to despise wickedness.

I will not turn soft; I choose to be hard on sin. I will not tolerate evil. I am disgusted by it.

I help those wallowing in their mud of sin - to love them with the heart of the Savior by showing them gently a better way to live. But all through the process, I hate the sin.

May it never cross my mind that it's okay, that it's only a little bit of sin and it's okay.

No, it's not okay. Sin is never okay. Sin is like a yeast. A little touch of it affects the whole dough. It's the little foxes that ruin the vineyard.

A little sinful mistake can outweigh all the good and the great that God has established in my life.

The good I do is disgusting to the wicked. I will never fit in with them. God has already called me to walk away and be separated. I shouldn't make any attempts to be reconciled with the world.

To the eyes of the wicked, my acts of holiness are nothing but stinking pride, arrogance, and a stepping-on-people. I will never be accepted until I let go of what is right.

The choice is clear. I choose joy. The fleeting pleasures of this world are nothing compared to the eternal satisfaction, joy and fulfillment that only God's presence can bring.

Whose side are you on?

The Curse of the Thief

I n the middle of audit week, our company accountants decided not to show up. As it turned out, they embezzled some money. What struck me the most was that the people who did it were not strangers; they were like mothers and aunts. We saw them almost every day, smile at them, laugh with them, and made plans together. As part of the management team, we ate out and had a friendly good time. It was heartbreaking to realize that the people in the news for some criminal activity had the same profile as those that I had warm and cuddly relations with. But loyalty goes up. My love for God supersedes any other relationship. I feel sad, yes, but I have no inkling to cover for them. If anything, I am upset because I was this close to them, and yet, clueless. My colleagues and I were mixed emotions. On one hand, we felt betrayed. The suspects were like family. We confided in them and planned activities with them in all sincerity and warmth. But maybe, just maybe, they were truthful and sincere...

As for me

far be it from me that I should sin against the Lord by failing to pray and teach the way that is good and right.  (1 Samuel 12:23) Share your burbles here. Images courtesy of ChristArt .

Bishopric and Episkopé: The Ministry of Visitation

The KJV word is bishoprick , which is now archaic in spelling. Most Bible translators didn’t use the modern spelling ‘ bishopric,’ and that, for a good reason.   #Acts1v20 For it is written in the book of Psalms: “Let his habitation be desolate, and let no man dwell in it.”, and, “His bishopric, let another take.”   A quick google search shows that bishopric means: the office or rank of a bishop. ·      a district under a bishop's control; a diocese.   But looking closely at the Greek word, episkopé, reveals a deeper meaning: a visiting, an overseeing [Strong's].   Here's the kicker: bishopric k is not a desk job; it's fieldwork.   An excellent, Spirit-filled bishop or pastor performs the act of visitation. How does one effectively "oversee" a flock? By being with them, by being among them. When God calls one to be a pastor of a people, the expectation is not like that of a manager who stays in the offic...

The Ministry

Is Received, Not Assumed. Hebrews 8:6 But the ministry Jesus has received is as superior to theirs as the covenant of which he is mediator is superior to the old one, and it is founded on better promises. Even our Lord Jesus received it from the Father. The Ministry is given, not taken. I will wait for my turn.

Death and Destruction

are never satisfied, and neither are human eyes.  (Proverbs 27:20 NIV ) People will never stop dying and being destroyed, and they will never stop wanting more than they have. (NCV) Share your burbles here. Image courtesy of Victor Habbick at FreeDigitalPhotos.net

The Goal of Bible Reading

I diligently read the Bible  to know how to come to Jesus. John 5:39-40 You study the Scriptures diligently because you think that in them you have eternal life. These are the very Scriptures that testify about me,   yet you refuse to come to me to have life. (NIV) Share your burbles here. Image courtesy of Lightstock .

Guided, Advised, and Watched Over

I will let the Lord guide me along the best pathway for my life. I will heed His advice, and feel safe, knowing that God is watching over me with a loving eye. (Psalm 32:8) The LORD says, "I will guide you along the best pathway for your life. I will advise you and watch over you. (NLT) I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go; I will counsel you with my loving eye on you. (NIV) Share your burbles here. Image courtesy of Lightstock .

God is working in me

for me to desire and perform His will,  which is my destiny, for His glory. Philippians 2:13 For it is God who is working in you, enabling you both to desire and to work out His good purpose. (HCSB) It is God who produces in you the desires and actions that please him. (GW) God is working in you to make you willing and able to obey him. (CEV) for it is God who works in you to will and to act in order to fulfill his good purpose. (NIV) because God is working in you to help you want to do and be able to do what pleases him. (NCV) -=w=- The Holy Spirit is a true gentleman. He first inspires me to do His will, and then He empowers me to accomplish it. What a sweet deal! He does not force himself, He makes me want to do His will! As long as I am doing the will of God, I will always end up victorious. Come hell or high water, I will come out on top for God's glory!  When I persevere to do the will of God, I become unstoppable...

Encouragement In Death

I do not grieve like those who have no hope. 1 Thessalonians 4:13-18   I believe that: 1) Jesus died and rose again 2) God will bring with Jesus those who have died in Him 3) Jesus will come back 4) the dead in Christ will rise first 5) then those living for the Lord will experience Rapture And now, dear brothers and sisters, we want you to know what will happen to the believers who have died so you will not grieve like people who have no hope. For since we believe that Jesus died and was raised to life again, we also believe that when Jesus returns, God will bring back with him the believers who have died. We tell you this directly from the Lord: We who are still living when the Lord returns will not meet him ahead of those who have died. For the Lord himself will come down from heaven with a commanding shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trumpet call of God. First, the Christians who have died will rise from their graves. Then, together with t...

Grant me this VS Prepare me for this

James and John wanted prominent positions by grant. Although they claim that they were able to work for it, this was still not His to give. Jesus replied to them, "but to sit at my right or left is not for me to grant. These places belong to those for whom they have been prepared." (Mark 10:40 NIV) It was not a matter of being granted it, but of being prepared for it. Those positions were already prepared for someone else, and James and John were already too late - by a lifetime. God has prepared those places for the ones he has chosen. (NLT) Furthermore, this kind of thing is NOT ASKED, but GIVEN. The Lord reserves the right and prerogative to do so. It's His choice. But to sit on my right hand and on my left hand is not mine to give; but it shall be given to them for whom it is prepared. (KJV) Prayer: Prepare me, oh Lord. Help me progress to that level of being chosen, so I can also be a part of Your choices. And also stop me, Lord, from requesting stuff I'm...
